We’re delighted to announce our first full uk tour in a long long time. We’ll be previewing material from our upcoming record along with smashing out some of the oldies. Come party.

Today we are giving away a b-side to our EP “They must be building something”. This song was written in the first batch of songs we wrote after releasing our debut album. We nick named it “Hot Air Balloon” and we’ve only ever played it live a couple of times almost a year ago. We didn’t want this song to disappear from history completely so as our final ‘gift’ to you in our advent calendar we give you “Quiet to the loud”. Enjoy it and if you enjoy it please share it with your friends. We still have a special surprise for you tomorrow if you’re not too busy stuffing your faces and unwrapping all those gifts, all you have to do is check our website.

So a few of you have been asking us to put up Whispers & Choirs as part of our advent calendar so we thought why not give you something new to enjoy rather than the version you can already see us play live on the video below. This is a quick bedroom demo of an alternative arrangement that we will be recording again in the future so for the moment enjoy this and come back tomorrow for your last advent calendar gift.

Today we hold another competition all you need to do is head over to our Facebook and comment your answer on the post with the following question on it:

Which town in Scotland did Flood of Red begin?

A – Aberdeen
B – Airdrie
C – Ayr

The winner will be chosen at random after Christmas from all those who answer correctly and will receive a once in a lifetime prize.

(*Note when leaving your comment on Facebook please only comment the Letter of your answer A, B or C.)

Good Luck!

Today we are giving away the demo of the first song we wrote which made it onto our debut album “Leaving Everything Behind”. We have been playing this song live for going on 5 years, and its still as fun to play today as it was when we first wrote it in our rehearsal space in Glasgow way back. Additionally below is the music video we filmed for the album version of the song along with the making of said video. We hope you’ve enjoyed our advent calendar. Not many days left so make sure and tell all your friends and fellow music lovers to go to our website, www.floodofred.co.uk – and download all the music we’re giving away for free up until Christmas Day.

It’s day 20 of our advent calendar and today we are giving you a demo of our song “I am the speechless” which we originally called “Cosgrove” after a friend. We spent a lot of time writing “Leaving Everything Behind” after we released “Lost in the Light”, We locked ourselves up in a studio in Glasgow everyday for 10 hours at a time. We were all nervous about how we wanted the album to sound. We wrote songs constantly and played them all everyday until we were happy with them. “I am the Speechless” is one of the first songs we wrote to be used for the album and as soon as we heard back this recorded demo we all agreed that it should definitely be included. What’s been your favourite day of our calendar so far?

It’s day 19 of our advent calendar and today we are giving you the demo of our song called “Like Elephants”. When we were writing this song, we called it “GPM”. These are the initials of one of our best friends, Gavin Paul Maxwell, who helped us out on the road at the start of our touring life commenting on equipments condition – “Its fucked! Buy a new one” and occasionally fixing stuff. This song was the inspiration to call our album “Leaving Everything Behind”. We hope you are enjoying our advent calendar, There’s only six days left now! What do you think we will be giving you for christmas?
